Day 3 : Not Hungry

Today was day three of the challenge and I was not hungry all day. I ate only cause I knew my body needed fule. I did my 6am CrossFit workout. I am very upset with how it went down this morning. Due to some lower back pain I was only able to complete one round. So today I met with Dr. Dave over at Red Line Sports Therapy to get everything worked out. I will be doing around 12 session with him to get me back to being functional. If you need any sport therapy this is the guy to see (Click Here.) Tell Him the Beard sent you.

CrossFit Rep and Beyond

This week CrossFit Rep started up and I couldn't be more excited. I have set my self on a journey that will change a lot in my life. My body is already showing some results. Yesterday morning I put my jeans on and they did not fit. I spent all day pulling them up, even with a belt. With all the physical results the most important thing to remember is the internal changes going on. I am getting healthy and it feels great. My long long term goal for all of this is to be 80 and still be able to do burpee's. Sound good? I think so!

The Reasons

So last week, I "took the week off" from working out. I did nothing....I got up and did nothing everyday. I walked Waylon, I think that is the only type of burning calories I did last week. The reason why? I had so many reasons, "I'm good." "I need to rest." "I'm tired." and "I don't want to." All of these reasons I used to not workout at all. Even this Monday I woke up at 5:30am for my workout and I told myself all of the reasons and more to not go. I pushed and made it to the workout and on the way I realized all of those reason were just excuses...and excuses suck! Excuses turn into reasons why I am over weight and out of shape.

The Start

This Fitness Blog is going to be nothing but me talking about my journey into getting healthy and in a much better shape than the last 30 years of my life. When I turned 30 back in February I realized there were things I couldn't do because of the state my body was in. I wanted to change that, and the only way was to change what I ate and to start working on my "Fitness." I started to run...haha started, I could only run about 50 meters and i was done. I didn't give up though within a week or so I was running around 2 miles a day. I stopped drinking the 600 calories a day in Dr Pepper and switched to water, dropped 10lbs in a week and ran ran ran. I decided I needed something more than just running so I had an idea. My cousin and his wife started a CrossFit Box down in SouthEast Texas were I grew up. Because I live in Austin and I know no one in the CrossFit community I did some research on the inter-webs and found a few Boxes in Austin. I look into the closes one to me and emailed them. I am a photographer by trade and I figured I could offer them Photography Services in-trade for a membership. They seemed interested, so we set a date for me to come and to take some photo's during one of the classes. The pictures turn out great, I was pleased. The CrossFit Box decided to pass, not sure why but I wasn't going to give up. So I kept looking. A few weeks later, a friend of my cousin contacted me and told me she was opening a new CrossFit in Austin and would like to meet. So this starts my journey with CrossFit Rep! There is a smokn' deal going on right now if you are in Austin and would like to try out CrossFit. Check it out here
